Maybe the Blair Witch-Paranormal Activity approach has worn out its welcome.

That would take one hell of a cameraman, and there are all kinds of shots where the screen goes dark and cuts could obviously be concealed. John, now conscious, is wrapped in plastic and sitting in the living room.
